Care For Children Course Standards

We recommend parents and school teachers as well an anyone looking after children to enroll in the Emergency First Response® Care for Children course. This course is performance-based meaning we focus and work on what you can do and make it easy and fun to learn.

This dynamic course philosophy means that all students receive the CPR & AED completion card immediately after they have met the training objectives. Certificates are internationally recognized and valid for 24 months from the date of training. We usually conduct CPR AED classes in Bangkok & Pattaya every month.

Emergency First Response CPR & AED course follows the emergency considerations and protocols as developed by the members of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). Current members include the American Heart Association, the Australian Resuscitation Council, and the Resuscitation Council of Asia, and many others.

Care For Children Course Goals

The EFR Care for Children course is an innovative CPR, AED and First Aid training course that teaches participants how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children (ages one to puberty) and infants less than one year old.

Participants learn about the types of medical emergency that kids face, and how that differs with adult conditions. The curriculum also includes the importance of attending to basic emergency situations with children, the intensified emotional aspects, secondary care for children, and preventing common injuries and illness that kids and toddlers are prone to.

1. Theory Lesson (40%)

EFR Care For Children Course teaches you the approach and processes for handling life-threatening emergencies involving Children. You will learn how to prioritize emergency procedures using the AB-CABS memory word and monitor a childs Cycle of Care. This important information and guidelines on critical care emergency is based on the same priorities used by medical professionals.

2. Practical Lessons (60%)

The skill development and mock emergency scenario sessions are delivered by your Emergency First Response Instructor based on real life incidents involving children and may include the following techniques depending on the level of certification you require;

3. Certifying Examination

EFR Care For Children Course Summary

Over one day (approx 6 hrs) Our Emergency First Response Care For Children course builds skills in Primary Care (CPR) and teaches you the proper use of AED specifically for children. Covering infants ages one to eight and infants less than one year old in some incidents. Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adult conditions.
The curriculum also includes the importance of attending to basic emergency situations with children, the emotional aspects of caring for children, secondary care for children, and preventing common injuries and illnesses in children.
The EFR Care For Children The Care for Children course content is based on guidelines from the Pediatric Working Group of ILCOR.
